Ready for the Runway!
La Panache “Ready For The Runway” this past Saturday, August 20th at the Butler Institute of American Art was a transcendent fashion experience! There was a total democratization of style on display from attendees in the overflow audience to the models walking the gleaming imported marble runway of the elegant Beecher Court atrium and gallery.
What an extravaganza! The vibe of expectation was met with full delivery of supreme and quality services from the greeters and gallery security to the lavish and grand hors d’oeuvres. And, as if the surrounding art was not enough, the show itself was a splendid sensory stimulation with the live exhibition of everything from street style moving in sync to thumps of hip-hop’s latest grooves (mastered by DJ Chip Banks) to haute couture showcased by local designers and others from as far as Columbus, Ohio, Detroit, New York, and with the pièce de ré·sis·tance by main event headliner Maurice Gooch.
The brains behind the bling and Gooch’s business partner, Kimberlyn Hines , is a no-nonsense but very sensible business professional who gave an equal measure as to how she managed the before and after as much as she did to the success of the final showcased product. She commandeered the machine behind-the-scene with savvy and aplomb. And here’s a teaser and ‘real talk’ note about the next one : La Panache plans are already being cemented for a spectacular over-the-top event with a provocative theme! In vernacular, concerning the grandeur of next year— “You Already Know”!
